Heffalump is a non-profit cooperative nursery school designed to provide children with an alternative to traditional preschool programs. The school offers 2- to 5-year-old kids a warm, supportive and nurturing environment.
The educational program balances teacher-directed activity and unstructured play time. Each week, a new theme is chosen to direct daily activities, such as "shapes," "feelings," or "energy." Activities include art, science, cooking, gardening and more.

El Carmelo is one of 12 elementary schools in the Palo Alto Unified School District. The school boasts a beautiful, tranquil reading garden, a monthly quilt project, and a large play structure. Fifth graders here are even taught to build their own web pages.

Located in Palo Alto, Hope Technology School is a private, non-profit educational facility which provides preschool, elementary school and vocational learning opportunities for both typical students and students with special needs. Additional services include occupational, speech pathology and physical therapy. School tours are held the second Monday of each month at 3pm.
Founded in 1992, Emerson School is a private, secular elementary and middle school with a focus on academic rigor and individualized instruction. The students follow an enriched Montessori program, which encourages self-directed learning in a number of domains of knowledge.
Addison Elementary has been serving the community of Palo Alto since 1925. This public school has spaces for 450 students from kindergarten through fifth grade, with class sizes in grades one to three limited to just 20 students. At Addison, teachers, students and parents work together to create an accepting community environment.
Founded in 1979, the International School of The Peninsula is co-educational and educates students from pre-school through middle-school. Drawing on its core values of bilingual immersion education, curriculum integration and global citizenship, the school uses a French- and Mandarin Chinese language immersion program to educate students.
Terman Middle School opened in October 1999 as the third middle school in the Palo Alto Unified School District. The diverse student body of 700 is supported by nearly 70 teachers, paraprofessionals, custodians, food service workers and administrative staff.
