Rev. David L. Harvin is the head of the Hay Street United Methodist Church. It is a massive and beautiful church located in the downtown Fayetteville. The early Sunday service is at 9am and the second service takes place at 11am. Sunday school classes for all ages begin at 945am. This church offers daycare, choir, missionary groups, youth programs, pre-school, vacation bible school and much more.
Reverend Regina Henderson pastors this friendly, small-town church. Henderson is a native of Fayetteville. The church offers several community-boosting programs, including the Food Panty and an exclusive women's ministry. The church also offers a children's ministry, including children's choir, summer camp, an Easter egg hunt, Sunday morning worship and local fishing trips.
St. Luke Ame Church is located just minutes from historic downtown Fayetteville inside a two-story brick building built in the late 1800s. Inside you'll find a sanctuary with cathedral ceilings and wooden pews and a large pipe organ. This facility is known for housing various choirs from all over the United States. It offers child care services during worship times and various youth and study groups.

This non-denominational Christian church is celebrating its 30-year anniversary in 2011. The senior pastor is Tim Cooperider, the youth and worship tech/arts minster is Lyle Parker and the children's minister is John Wood. It offers both a traditional service and a more contemporary service with upbeat music and hymns. Men's and women's ministries are available during the week to supplement education and for fellowship with other members. The children's ministry has a free vacation Bible school each summer, as well as the option of sending the kids to Christian camps.
The Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove attracts thousands of visitors every year from across the country who come to attend seminars and conferences, hear concerts, and get some rest and relaxation. In addition to conference facilities, The Cove offers overnight lodging in mountain cabins and walking trails throughout its scenic campus.

The Cove offers plenty of parking for overnight guests and visitors who would like to tour the facilities. Shuttle transportation is available to and from the Asheville Airport.
Best and worst time to go to The Cove
With scenic views of the mountains year-round, there isn't a bad time to visit The Cove. However, The Cove is closed for visitation during most major holidays, and visiting hours to some areas of the center are limited to weekdays between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The Cove does not charge admission to day visitors. Conferences, seminars, concerts, and other events may have a fee attached.
Must see/do at The Cove
One of the main attractions at The Cove is the Chatlos Memorial Chapel, where visitors can find out more about The Cove and see the antique pews and wrought iron chandeliers in the sanctuary. Guided tours are available at no charge.
Other places to visit near The Cove
The Cove is located just a couple miles from The Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway at milepost 382. The Parkway can be accessed from Highway 70. The Parkway also offers many mountain views and hiking trails from designated parking areas.
Insider tip for visitors to The Cove
The prayer room in the Chatlos Memorial Chapel at The Cove is open to the public during weekday visiting hours and is staffed by volunteers who will pray with guests about their physical or spiritual needs.

The congregation at Cumberland Baptist Church makes it a point to be involved in the well-being of the community. The church has several poverty-prevention programs.
