San Diego Youth for Christ is an organization committed to engaging with area youth and presenting to them a responsible evangelism. Some of the organizations programs include: Campus Life (for high schools), and Campus Life M (for middle schools).
The main office is located on the same property as Faith Chapel in Case de Oro, but is mainly used for administrative purposes. There are not events held at the offices, as most of their ministry work is done out in the field.
SDYC ministers to all of San Diego County and serves about 300 youth per week, depending on the size and scope of the various meeting places.
The group strives to share the life values, teachings and truth about who Jesus Christ was and how he changed the world. It is the hope that this will set the young people up with a foundation to make a positive impact on their schools, communities, cities, and beyond.
The core staff of SD Youth for Christ are Don "Smitty" Smith, Executive Director; Tina Flannery, Area Director, East San Diego; Gina Melton, Santee Area Director; and Bill Chapin, Business Administrator.
Casa de Oro Baptist Church, led by Pastor Ron Barnes, sits high above the Casa de Oro community on Madrid Road. It was established in 1948.
All are welcome to come to the weekly worship services, Bible studies, prayer meetings and Awana gatherings on Wednesdays for kids and teens. The church serves the community by providing many social service groups a place to meet.
In addition, the church offers family Christian karate classes at its facility, and its members give to a food pantry, where needy people and families can select items.
Trinity Church is a Presbyterian church located in Spring Valley. The church offers both traditional and contemporary Sunday worship services, catering to a diverse congregation. The church's various ministries provide religious education and recreational activities for youth and young professionals, as well as musical programming. Trinity Church stresses social action and supports a number of charitable projects.
Pastor Cecil L. Brookins resides over Mount Helix's Words of Life Christian Ministry. Nestled into a small business complex and easily found, this gathering center offers various worship times, youth groups, and Sunday Schools.
Faith Chapel, an Assembly of God church led by Senior Pastor Brian Ross, welcomes both regulars and visitors of all ages. Faith Chapel is has a number of events throughout the year, including its annual "Trunk or Treat" celebration, its Easter Egg hunt, Christmas performances and Thanksgiving turkey dinner giveaways.
