Founded in 1978, the Christian Cultural Center, also known as CCC, is a Christ-based, nonprofit organization with more than 30,000 members. Its facility is spread over an 11-acre campus that features a chapel, museum, mall, bookstore, pavilion garden, restaurants, and worship and prayer centers. The center operates Brooklyn Preparatory School, which serves students in pre-kindergarten through grade one. The school offers several extracurricular activities, including gymnastics, bowling and swimming. The Christian Cultural Center provides membership options for children s, golden saints, golf, marriage and prison ministries. The center also offers leadership training institute classes. It provides a one-year Bible reading program. The Christian Cultural Center additionally offers information about various sponsorship programs. The center is affiliated with the Abundant Life Christian Center and Meadowbrook Church.

The Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture is a local humanist religious organization, located in a beautiful neo-Jacobean building circa 1900 on Prospect Park West. The organization also hosts the Good Coffeehouse Music Parlor, a music venue in the Prospect Park West building featuring a variety of musical talent. Additionally, children's groups and adult workshops are offered.

The Brooklyn Society for Ethical Culture is a member of the American Ethical Union, a federation of Ethical Culture and Ethical Humanist societies.

The Newman Memorial United Methodist Church, founded in 1900, this year (2011) celebrates its 111th year of ministry in the Bedford-Stuyvesant Community.  The Pastor is the Reverend Cedric R. Johnson.  Newman Memorial runs a soup kitchen, food pantry and other services for the benefit of the least-served in the surrounding Bed-Stuy community.

It began in 1875 as a Congregational Sunday School meeting in the Brighton Chapel until the turn of the century. In 1907 the congregation re-incorporated as St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Coney Island, and met in a newly constructed house of worship on west 5th street near Lincoln High School.
