Established as Recreation Vehicle Products in 1991, Airxcel began operating under its new identity in October 1997, with corporate headquarters in Wichita, Kan. Airxcel manufactures a variety of specialty air conditioning, heating and related appliances for recreation vehicles, telecommunications shelters, school classrooms, modular structures and other specialty applications. The combined resources of the companys business units represent more than 950 employees at four manufacturing locations. Airxcel operates three primary business units: the Wichita-based RV Products; Marvair, located in Cordele, Ga; and Suburban Manufacturing, located in Dayton, Tenn. The RV Products division designs, manufactures and markets air conditioners for recreational vehicles, marine applications, elevators, heavy-duty off-road uses and a wide variety of small-space cooling applications. Marvair manufactures environmental control units, air conditioners, heat pumps, unit ventilators and controls. Airxcel s Suburban division manufactures RV gas furnaces, water heaters, ranges and stovetops.
