Boyd Community Center is an independent nonprofit organization, offering cultural, educational and recreational classes, camps, workshops and special events. Founded in 1982, the center serves the six municipalities that comprise the Fox Chapel Area School District in Pittsburgh, including Aspinwall, Blawnox, Fox Chapel, Indiana Township, OHara and Sharpsburg, as well as the surrounding areas. It offers a wide variety of classes for children, including ballet, soccer, storybook art, Latin rhythms, baking, football, hockey, self-defense workshop, yoga, drawing and painting, sculpture, and conference week art camp. The center also offers adult classes and workshops, including drawing, beading, writing, calligraphy, meditation, yoga, Pilates, ballroom dance, Ikebana and Feng Shui. Boyd Community Center includes various clubs and groups, such as just for ladies, quilters, watercolor workshop and a sanctioned bridge game.

Mt. Lebanon is spread across more than six square miles of Western Pennsylvanias hills. Located in Pittsburg, Pa., the community offers a wide range of facilities, including an ice center. The ice center organizes several hockey league programs. It offers a senior hockey league for adults 25 years and older. In addition, the ice center has a studio rink that promotes quickness in passing, skating, shooting and stick handling. The facility has a seating for more than 700 and includes a regulation 200-by-85-foot main rink and a 60-by-80-foot studio rink. The ice center organizes several leagues, such as developmental ice hockey, freshman spring, the MT. Lebanon adult league and high school summer hockey league.

The Brookline Recreation Center and Memorial Park plays a key role in keeping Brookline's residents in shape and offers a community meeting space. The pool has been closed since 2003, but there's still plenty to do: inside and outside basketball courts, ball fields, a soccer field. Yoga, boxing and Pilates are also offered. The rec center houses a weight machine room and cardio equipment.

Cherry Court Studios is for children ages 10 and up who love to draw. Classes are small each student is mentored according to his/her unique personality, learning style and combination of talents.The Cherry Court curriculum is one of the few programs designed for the unique developmental needs of middle school. During the school year, classes meet once a week, 14 weeks per semester. Each class is 1 hour long. Classes for grades seven, eight, and nine are followed by an optional 45 minute open studio.To make the most progress, students should plan to attend at least two semesters and come to class regularly. Classes meet after school, evenings, and on Saturdays. In addition, workshops are available during the summer. One workshop provides the instructional hours of one-half semester.
