When tasked with writing about myself, it really does seem just that … a task. I would have absolutely NO hesitation writing about others! But as this is “About Me”, I will endeavor to be as forthright as possible. I am a midwestern girl who relocated to the Denver area from Iowa in the mid 70’s, and promptly fell in love with the mountain ranges, the ever-changing weather, the sports, and the people. Other than a brief period spent on Florida’s Gulf Coast, I have continued to call Colorado my home. After raising two amazing daughters who have since become my best friends, I was at a cross-roads in my life. I had been in advertising, writing medical scripts for a nationally aired television program, but really needed to make a change. I decided to trade the panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains for the tranquil beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. I then began what I have found to be one of the most rewarding and enjoyable careers I have had – Real Estate! Real Estate … I remember so vividly my very first transaction as an agent; I was later told that the problems we encountered were some that just didn’t happen very often! I found that my innate problem-solving gene kicked in and accomplished for my buyer what may have otherwise stopped this deal dead in its tracks. “If you can’t get your buyer to the closing table – then bring the closing table to your buyer!” There are many lessons to be learned from each relationship and from each transaction. This first closing experience, with all of its obstacles and surprises was a successful one. Having been able to coordinate the signing of documents and exchange of keys in a hospital waiting room, I left with a true feeling of accomplishment, having made home ownership a reality for my buyer in a very trying time in her life. I drove down the road and said to myself, “I LOVE THIS!” This is how I felt on Day One – this is how I feel today. I have had the distinction of being nominated and chosen as a 5-Star Realtor in Florida’s much coveted annual edition of Sarasota Homes & Lifestyle for four consecutive years and am now on my way to, hopefully, reaching this level of recognition in Colorado. Family ties took me from Denver to Florida and family ties have brought me back! So, here I am – with a career I love – in a place I love. This is MY Real Story … what’s yours?
