Built in 2007, the new Shrewsbury Senior High School has offered students great achievements in standardized test scores, as well as participation in co-curricular activities and athletics (despite user fees). Students are committed to giving back to the community by participating in local and national community organizations.
Paton School is located near the center of town and offers students a positive, child-centered learning environment. The students are challenged, involved, assisted and encouraged to work with others as they grow as learners and citizens. The curriculum adheres to the state's frameworks and features an emphasis on reading and writing at higher levels through all aspects of the education.
Spring Street School focuses on the core values of acceptance, dedication, support and perseverance. The students are committed to becoming knowledgeable, persevering and responsible for their own success. The faculty and staff are committed to helping the students achieve academic success.
The faculty and staff at Coolidge School strive "to create a respectful educational community that encourages the pursuit of lifelong learning, values individuals and their contributions and appreciates diversity."
As one of the public preschools in town, Parker Road offers individualized education to special needs children as well as a well-rounded education for all students. The staff encourages all children to explore and investigate the world through play and learning. They also help students become responsible and make appropriate decisions in all aspects of life. The staff also encourages each child to succeed throughout all their years of learning.
As the largest and newest elementary school in town, Floral Street offers a well-rounded education for all students from grades 1 to 4. Its mission is, "working together, planting the seed of lifelong learning, cultivating cooperation, compassion, and confidence, building integrity in a respectful community, our gift to the future."
The Shrewsbury School Department is located at 100 Maple Ave. in the town hall. They serve one preschool, a centralized kindergarten program, four elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school.
The School Committee is also part of the School Department. It consists of five members: Chair Sandry Fryc, and members: Erin Canzano, B. Dale Magee, Mark Murray and Steve Levine.
