Home of the green and gold Champions, Connerton Elementary is one of Pasco County's newest elementary schools. Founded in 2009, the campus also serves as the temporary home of Sanders Memorial Elementary School. Students in the kindergarten through fifth grade take part in a number of community service activities, including schoolwide canned food drives for the needy. The school has an active parent-teacher-association and a dad's club.
Located in Land O'Lakes, The Groves Golf & Country Club is a private, 446 acre senior community facility which caters to residents 55 years or older. This community is home to a 15,000 square foot clubhouse, dining facility, spa, heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, tennis courts, fitness center, dog park, RV storage and more. The 18 hole par 55 golf course comes complete with training and practice facilities and fully stocked pro shop and offers professional instruction and challenging holes for golfers looking to improve their game. Land O' Lakes' oldest school is currently closed for renovation. It was founded in 1948, and once had more than 1,000 students.
The District School Board of Pasco County has long met in centrally located Land O' Lakes, and the main administration building on Land O' Lakes Boulevard was constructed in 1986. The school board oversees pre-K, elementary, middle and high schools throughout Pasco County. The district also offers Pasco eSchool, which is an online program for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The board consists of five elected officials who meet twice monthly to discuss policy and budgetary issues. The district's day-to-day business is run by an elected superintendent.
The Land O' Lakes High School Fighting Gators have long been a source of pride for the community. The school's students have a tradition of excelling in both academics and sports. "The Swamp" is home not only to a hard-hitting football team and spirited cheerleaders, but also an International Baccalaureate program. The school also fields a number of other sports teams, and is soon to be home to its own Culinary Academy.
Sunlake is Land O' Lakes' newest high school. Founded in 2005, its feeder schools include Rushe Middle and Oakstead, Lake Myrtle and Denham Oaks elementary schools. The Sunlake Seahawks enjoy access to AP classes and their own onsite Finance Academy, supported by Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union. The school also fields a strong athletic program with such sports as baseball, basketball, cross-country, golf, soccer and football available. The school is on Sunlake Boulevard off Mentmore Boulevard.
Charles S. Rushe is a Pasco County public school serving students in the sixth through eighth grades. Established in 2007 to take some of the pressure off Pine View Middle, the school has become an integral part of the community. It features a strong academic program and an active calendar of events. The Rushe Ravens are also engaged in a number of sports, including basketball and soccer. The school boasts a large number of clubs, including drama, running, chorus, chess, technology and more.
