The Santa Cruz County Probation Department is "committed to preventing crime and helping repair harm caused by crime," according to its website. The downtown office, located near the corner of Ocean and Water streets, is most frequently used for making restitution payments. The office is at the top of the stairs on the second floor of the 303 Water Street building.
The Administrative Services office of the Sacramento County Probation Department is staffed by the people who keep the department humming on a day-to-day basis. The staff oversees adult and juvenile offenders granted probation by the Courts. The building contains offices for internal affairs, policy and compliance, administration, fiscal management and human resources, among others.
