Founded in 1879, Fishburne Military School is one of the oldest military schools in Virginia. It is a college preparatory boarding school for boys in grades 8 through 12. Located in Waynesboro, Va., the school teaches a variety of subjects, such as geometry, algebra, fine arts, leadership education, history, geography, English, Spanish, computer applications, technical studIES, and earth and physical science. Fishburne Military School provides coaching and training in various athletic events, including basketball, baseball, football, tennis, cross country, swimming, wrestling, and track and field. It maintains a range of cocurricular groups that includes the Honor Society, band, Boy Scouts, and key and drama clubs. Fishburne Military School operates the Cadet Store, which offers an array of clothing and souvenirs along with school supplies and toiletries.
