Gaston Day School has been operational for more than 40 years and serves students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Founded in 1967, it is a nonsectarian, college preparatory school that enrolls more than 500 students and over 70 full- and part-time faculty and staff members. The school s academic curriculum includes several subjects, such as English, math, science, social studies, foreign languages, fine arts, and physical and health education. Gaston Day School provides opportunities for students to participate in several athletic activities including basketball, baseball, cross country, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, track and field, cheerleading, softball and volleyball. It is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, the Southern Association of Independent Schools and the North Carolina Association of Independent schools. Gaston Day School is located in Gastonia, N.C., and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
