Angelo Grippo founded Grippo s Snack Foods in 1919. Known then as the Grippos Cone Company, it manufactured rolled sugar cones in a one-room office in Cincinnati. Grippos added pretzels to their business and in 1923 began hand twisting and baking the traditional twist pretzel. In 1930, Grippo invented the loop pretzel and put into operation pretzel looping machines. In 1959, the company added potato chips to its product line. Today, Grippos continues to bring fresh deliciously new snack foods to the market. Some of its items include barbeque potato chips, cheese and jalapeno chips, sweet Bermuda onion chips, pork rinds, onion rings, hot and spicy popcorn, a variety of pretzels and dips. Grippos Snack Foods maintains a location in Cincinnati.
