Located in the in the lower level of the Mallards Pointe Building, Curious By Nature offers toddlers and preschoolers a unique education experience. The schools incorporates several teaching styles into their curriculum to provide a well-rounded experience. Nature is a big part of the schools focus and the motto is "there isn't bad weather just bad clothing choices." Kids get the opportunity to study in the outdoors rather than just filling out a worksheet about it. The school offers a programs for toddler, preschoolers and pre-kindergarten starting fall 2011.
Founded in 1976, Gig Harbor Academy is the oldest non-public school in the Gig Harbor peninsula. More than 150 students attend this facility on 32nd Street. It has four-buildings to accommodate students from preschool through fifth grade. The preschool curriculum includes art, music and Spanish in addition to pre-reading skills, math and science. Fitness and technology are also part of the school curriculum. In order to maintain its family like environment, parents are welcome to volunteer. Gig Harbor Academy also offers before- and after-school programs.
Located on Crescent Valley Drive NW, Arcadia Montessori has been in Gig Harbor since 1996. Each class has 20 students with two instructors. The school offers three- or five-day sessions every week for students ages 3–6 years old. Arcadia Montessori includes Spanish in its curriculum. There is another branch of Arcadia Montessori in Tacoma.
Since 1982, Hosanna Christian School has been one of the independent Christian schools in the Gig Harbor Peninsula. It is located off Point Fosdick Drive behind the Peninsula Library. The school provides education for preschool through 8th grade students. In order for teachers to work more closely with their students, the preschool classes have no more than nine students in each classroom. The upper grade levels have an average class size of 17 students.

Rainy Dayz welcomes children ages 18 months to 6 years. Potty training is not required.
