With a mission to "meet the individual child care needs of the expanding Stamford community in a family-like environment," Piper's Hill treats each student as an individual and gives each one a chance to grow in a developmentally appropriate environment.
The Tender Loving Care Academy was founded in 1998 and can be found near the corner of Strawberry Hill Avenue and Colonial Road. The institution accepts children under 5 years old and teaches them motor skills, arts, crafts and science among other things. The facility includes a backyard play area that uses rubber mulch for safety reasons. It also has bicycles and tricycles and other toys for the kids to use.
The Italian Center of Stamford (IC) serves Stamford and the surrounding towns with numerous recreational and educational activities for people of all ages. The club is located on twenty-eight acres of land in North Stamford.
A general membership provides individuals and families with access to an indoor pool, three outdoor pools, tennis and basketball courts, an indoor gym and a miniature golf course. The athletic department hosts personal-training sessions, a swim team and birthday parties. There's also a men's club, which offers its members exclusive locker rooms, steam rooms and golf outings.
General members also receive discounts on IC's licensed Nursery School and Kiddie Camp for three to six-year olds. Day Camp is for children entering kindergarten through 6th grade. Extended hours are also available.
IC runs a banquet and conference center for weddings, corporate affairs and other special events. IC can accommodate up to 600 guests, and clients have three spacious rooms to choose from. IC also hosts outdoor events on its picnic grounds. Invited guests have exclusive access to a pool, tennis courts and other amenities.

Founded in 1978, Creative Care Child Center is nursery school for children aged 3-5 with an extended day to accomodate working parents. Creative Care provides a healthy and stimulating environment for its students and offers instruction in subjects, including drama, art, cooking, science and outdoor play. Creative Care is located inside of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, but is not religiously affiliated.
Activities for Kids, located at the Glenbrook Community Center, offers children ages two through 12 various pre-school (Playschool), after-school and summer camp options. Founded in 1983 by executive director Jerry Pia, Activities for Kids provides a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn, engage in various physical activities or find a quiet place to study after school.
The Playschool—for children ages two through five—offers classes from 9am - noon or from noon - 3pm. Summer sessions are also available for those enrolled. The after-school program for children ages five through 12 is from 2:30pm until 5:30pm with extended hours until 6pm. Summer camp for children in this age group is also available from 8:30am to 5:30pm.
Transportation is provided for those who need it from schools in the area. Activities for Kids also offers additional holiday and vacation programs to further accommodate working parents.
Founded in 1854, the First Presbyterian Church of Stamford is well-known in the city for its unique structure, which was built in 1954 and has earned Church landmark status. Known as "the Fish Church," First Presbyterian's building is shaped like a fish and features beautiful stained glass windows and a 32-foot high wooden cross placed in front. The church offers a worship service on Sunday as well as Sunday School, and is known for hosting several missionary trips throughout the year to New Orleans.
The church also runs a nursery school for children, ages three to five. Classes are held in the church's education area and children are educated in various areas of study, including music, science, reading and art.
Founded in 1977 and located in North Stamford, The Canaan Ridge School offers a private-school education for students in nursery school through second grade. Canaan Ridge uses the Montessori method and offers its students science, art and music classes as well as an early start in French and Mandarin. The school is equipped with a playground, pool and a small computer area, and is open during the summer for camp. Canaan Ridge is also involved in Jane Goodall's Roots and Shoots program, which inspires children to become aware of, and active in environmental issues affecting their communities.

St. Ann's offers early childhood education through a faith-based program at the beautiful St. Ann's campus on West North Street. The main building is adorned with colorful murals located above a yard which holds statues in honor of its namesake. The school is in a side building, which offers a large play area as well as a pick-up and drop-off loop.
Operated by The Sisters, Little Workers of the Sacred Hearts, since 1962, Our Lady of Grace Preschool & Kindergarten provides children ages 3 to 6 with a quality early education in a religious setting, as well as a nurturing environment that working parents can depend on. Founded in 1975, Noah's Ark Nursery School provides half-day preschool classes for three- and four-year-olds in a Christ-centered environment. Located inside Zion Lutheran Church, Noah's Ark students are exposed to reading, art and math, as well as parables from the Bible. The students spend time in the chapel each month with Pastor Joan Breckenridge.
Three-year-olds can attend the Monday, Wednesday and Friday session or the Tuesday and Thursday session from 9am to noon. Four-year-olds attend every weekday at the same time.
