The Franklin County Adult Detention Center has more than 30 full-time employees. Located in Union, Mo., the detention center transports inmates to and from courts. The Franklin County Adult Detention Center houses civil detainees and dangerous felons, and it is managed by the Franklin County Sheriffs Department, a full-service law enforcement agency. The sheriff s department encompasses an area of over 920 square miles and serves nearly 93,000 citizens. It has more than 120 employees who are trained in hostage negotiation, crime scene processing and voice stress analysis. The Franklin County Sheriffs Department also operates specialized patrol, civil, detective and communications divisions.
