Minneapolis Police Precinct 3 is a part of Minneapolis Police Department and is headquarters for patrol officers, precinct investigations, community response teams and community crime prevention specialists. It has two community safety centers that foster police and community relations by joining police and local prosecutors with residents, local businesses and others to fight crime and improve neighborhoods. Minneapolis Police Precinct 3 s crime prevention specialists provide educational materials and programs, develop working relationships with the community and organize neighborhood watch groups. Its patrol unit responds to emergency and nonemergency calls for service; apprehends offenders; prevents and deters crime; investigates and gathers evidence at crime scenes; and maintains order within the community. Minneapolis Police Precinct 3 s investigations unit gathers and evaluates evidences; takes statements from victims and suspects; presents cases to the Hennepin County Attorneys Office for prosecution; and gives expert testimony in cases. It is located in Minneapolis.
