Discovery Village is a child enrichment center that caters to children from birth to 9 years of age. It provides kids the opportunity to take part in classes, such as art, cooking, zumba and dance. The owners, Amber Allin and Mollie Hoff, strive to make the facility a safe and clean environment centered around serving young families with multiple children.
The cafe is stocked with healthy snacks, such as muffins and fresh fruits. The lunch menu consists of soups and sandwiches, such as the all-time favorite grilled cheese. Preschool classes are now being offered and drop-in playtime is always available.
Located off of Burnham Drive and behind Costco, the Gig Harbor YMCA offers many attractions to the health enthusiasts. This huge two-story complex features cardio and weight equipment, pool, rock climbing wall, racquetball courts, kids adventure zone, teen center and cafe with Wi-Fi.
Multicare also has an office upstairs that offers massage therapy, podiatry and nutrition counseling. Several classes are available such as cycling, yoga, swim lessons, ballet, martial arts and various sports activities. Play-A-Latte has been a local hot spot since opening in 2009. Tania and Michael Hernandez, local residents, decided to open this playful oasis as a community builder for Gig Harbor families. Parents get to sit and relax with a mocha while kids socialize and play. The cafe is cozy and lends a great view to see your kids playing safely. Enjoy lattes, hot chocolates and a muffin will you lounge on the plush sofa. Free wifi is available if you need to get some work done. Parents can play, read a magazine, socialize or network. Fruit juice, yogurts and fresh baked cookies are available for kids. The main play area is filled with colorful decor and gives this 1500 sq. ft. fun house a whimsical feel. Here you will find a pirate ship with slide, rock wall, bouncy house, play house and toddler/infant area. Cleanliness is taken seriously and the facility is sanitized daily.
