Robles Park was once named Adams Park. It was renamed in 1928 after a prominent settler of the area, Joseph Paul Robles, who homesteaded 160 acres in what is now Tampa Heights in 1882.
Robles Lake began as a pond and was dredged to become a lake. It is surrounded by a paved walkway and is home to several varieties of wildlife, including the occasional alligator.
The park is home to a community center, where the city provides its After School Activity Program (ASAP).
