The Holy Trinity Lutheran Church has been in Rockville Centre for more than a century, though the building at 240 Lincoln Avenue was erected in 1956. It conducts Christian education classes for adults, Sunday church school (from Sept.-June) for kids ages 3-10 and offers a three-year confirmation program.
In addition to its regular Sunday worship service, the St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church of Rockville Centre runs a number of programs and ministries. It offers religious instruction for adults and children. It organizes fellowships for men, women and children. A calendar of events is available on its website.
Stemming from a small organized society in 1911, First Church of Christ Scientist grew into an incorporated church in 1924. Not yet having its own edifice, this band of members needed to share locations such as the Bank of Rockville Centre and the Masonic Temple to conduct its services.
From a building fund started in 1925, to property selections through 1928 to the architect's final plans and excavation in 1930, at long last First Church of Christ Scientist in Rockville Centre began holding services in its existing edifice since 1931.
Located on the residential streets of Morris Avenue, First Church of Chris Scientist holds its Sunday Lesson Sermon Services at 10:30 a.m., lasting for one hour. Its Sunday School, ranging from ages 3 through 19, starts at the same time.
Wednesday evening testimony meetings are at 8:15 p.m. At these meetings, gratitude and healings through the use of Christian Science prayer are shared. Open to the community for study and prayer is the Christian Science Reading Room within the premises. Its hours are Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m.. Its sales room is also open briefly after the Wednesday evening meetings and Sunday services.
The United Church of Rockville Centre is a United Church of Christ congregation, tracing its roots back to the staunchly Protestant Pilgrims and Congregationalists of the Plymouth Bay Colony of Massachusetts in 1620. In addition to regular Church School for children of all ages, it offers a Sunday Worship service at 10:30 a.m., and a Nursery School during the week. The pastor, the Rev. Peter Dennebaum, conducts baptisms, weddings, funerals and house blessings. The church has an all-volunteer choir. United Church of Rockville Centre supports local, national and international missions such as Habitat for Humanity and God's Love We Deliver.
St. Mark's United Methodist Church opened its doors in Rockville Centre in the mid-18th century. Pastor Roger Johns, who has led the congregation since the 1990s, said the church is a multicultural one that opens its arms to everyone. It hosts a 10am mass on Sundays and holds a year-long sports program for children. There are no weekday masses, and the church also participates in a cooperative nursery school adjacent to the church grounds. In addition, the church hosts Alcoholics Anonymous meetings, yoga classes and boys and girls scout nights.
