The Cathedral of the Incarnation is not only a historic wonder in the village but a place of worship for a dedicated congregation. Since its founding, music has been an important part of cathedral life. It offers a varied choral program, a concert series and the largest pipe organ on Long Island.

The Cathedral Choir of Men & Boys is one of the few still remaining in the U.S. and Canada and was founded in 1883. Made up of boys, teens and professional men, the choir sings a vast repertoire of choral music masterpieces.

The Cathedral Girls' Choir was founded years later in 1933 and is comprised of 26 girls. They too perform a large repertoire of music. In 1998, the Schola Cantorum was established to expand the repertoire available for the Girls' Choir to sing and also give adult women an opportunity to participate.

Worship is offered Sundays at 8, 9:30 and 11:15 a.m. and at 8 and 10 a.m. during the summer; Tuesday-Thursday at 12:15 p.m. in the Lady Chapel; and on the first Sunday of the month from October-May a Choral Evensong is offered at 4 p.m. using the traditional Cathedral model.

The Very Reverend Theodore W. Bean, Jr. serves as dean.

Historically, Long Island's geographical solitude compared to the city gave it an inherent utility for testing flight. Some 240 companies still use the island for manufacturing components related to the aviation industry. The Cradle of Aviation Museum celebrates this history by offering a glimpse into the past, a glimpse forward into space travel as well as a carousel, a Red Planet cafe, Nassau County's only domed IMAX theatre and plenty of activities and programs designed for children and adults to marvel through. Check the museum's Web site for seasonal events and specials.

In 1929 a new parish was established to serve Catholics in Stewart Manor, a neighboring village of Garden City. In June of that year, Saint Anne's celebrated its first Mass in temporary space on Covert Avenue.

The growing parish community raised funds to build a permanent church but was unable to find space until they purchased land at the corner of Salisbury Avenue and Adams Street in Garden City.  On June 22, 1930 parishioners witnessed the formal blessing and first Mass at the Church of Saint Anne.

Again, a growing congregation led to the need for more space. The convent on Fairmount Boulevard was built and the rectory on Adams Street expanded. It wasn't until 1964 that the Church of Saint Anne moved to Dartmouth Street; the Rectory followed in 1978.

The Lutheran Preschool aims to guide children in emotional, social and intellectual growth. The program, which focuses on five aspects of a child's life, spiritual, mental, physical, emotional and social, offers experiences in blocks, arts and crafts, painting, hands-on-activities, cooking, puppets, Bible stories, music and creative movement.

Children in the 4-year-old Pre-Kindergarten program participate in a Kindergarten Readiness Program and a computer program in addition to the regular program.

A Transitions Class is also available, designed for children who will be 5 years old in September, October, November and/or whose parents feel are not ready for Kindergarten. This class is also open to 4 year olds who will be 5 years old in December or January. An Advanced Kindergarten Readiness program will be offered to this class.

The school has an enclosed outdoor play facility. During cold or inclement weather, the preschool uses the gymnasium, which offers climbing apparatus and slides.

A Mommy and Me Program  is also available, enabling children to socialize with peers while giving moms the opportunity to share and grow with other moms. This class is limited to 12 children per session and the child must be 2 years old by Dec. 1 of the school year. Moms and their 2-year-old children join together each Wednesday for one and a half hours of activities led by teachers. Session A is from 9am - 10:30am, Session B is from 11am - 12:30pm.

In 1638 Roger Williams established the First Baptist Church in America in Rhode Island, whose government became the first in history founded on the guarantee of absolute religious freedom.

The events of the first Easter week are the cornerstones of a Baptist's faith: the death and resurrection of Christ. Holy Scripture always has been for American Baptists the authoritative and trustworthy guide for knowing and serving the God.

Church-in-the-Garden Baptist is located on Osborne Road in Garden City.
