First Baptist is shaped by persons with a variety of rich theological and ecclestical traditions. Corporate worship is an important component of our identity, and reflects our appreciation of differing styles within a traditional, liturgical framework. Service opportunities and missions outreach are other significant characteristics of First Baptist. Baptist Housing, Inc was begun in 1982 by First Baptist to provide affordable housing for those with limited financial means. Our Food Pantry provides not only food, but also workshops to assist with real world functionality for participants. Along with Corbin United Effort, First Baptist provides additional financial resources for assistance to transient and displaced persons. The mission of First Baptist Church of Corbin is to provide opportunities for every individual to find his or her place within a family of faith. Not bound by socio-economic, gender, chronological, or numerical lines, First Baptist seeks to help persons discover, refine, and use his or her spiritual gifts.
