Established in 1972, Chapel Haven offers various residential, educational, supported living, employment, recreational and community life programs. It has more than 80 employees and is located in New Haven, Conn. The facility is approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and is a member of the National Association of Private Special Education Centers and the Connecticut Association for Children and Adults with Learning Disabilities. Its campus consists of a computer classroom, community kitchen, media center, art studio and student lounge. The facility s residential program offers various opportunities to learn and practice household maintenance skills, such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, menu planning and shopping. Its educational program includes various subjects, such as language arts, math, science, social studies and vocational skills.
