"Superior Service and Quality, Since 1980." That's the catch phrase of Piero's Pizza in Highland Park, an Italian carry-out destination favored by locals and visitors alike. Tucked in a quiet residential area south of downtown, this pizza place is accessible to concertgoers planning a lawn picnic while watching a music fest at Ravinia. Menu options include the extra thin Piero Special, calzones, baked bruschetta, spessa pizza, chopped antipasto salad and wine. Delivery services are available to Highland Park, Glencoe, Deerfield, Fort Sheridan, Highwood, North Winnetka and Northeast Northbrook. Customers out of the area can also order pizza in an insulated box and freezer pack, and the restaurant will ship it via Fedex or UPS. In addition, Piero's Pizza has a Northbrook location with available seating and also offers catering. It is not affiliated with another pizza joint of the same name in Wilmette.
Take a walk on the beautiful and romantic side of southern Italy that is evoked by the airy, elegant Bella Via restaurant. This popular destination is reflective of owner and executive chef Maurizio LoBosco's birthplace. An impressive floor-to-ceiling display of wines lines the entrance. Complement your selection with a palate-pleasing bounty of seafood, including a calamari fritti appetizer, lobster tortellacci and halibut piccata. A main dish of Caprese- or saltimbocca-style veal is also a fine option. Bella Via features a large hall that can accommodate private events, as well.
Says LoBosco, "We cook from the heart, by tasting and watching and feeling the texture. We always prepare simple food. When the food is simple, it's good and healthy."
Dubbed the "Original pizza on the North Shore since 1953," this family eatery in Highland Park offers an extensive menu featuring its popular thin crust pizza, as well as pastas, burgers, grinders, sandwiches and more. A wide eating area is perfect for families and large groups. Il Forno's is located minutes in from I-94 on a quiet neighborhood street, and delivers to Highland Park, Highwood, Fort Sheridan, Lake Forest and Lake Bluff.
Judy's Pizzeria is a Highland Park transplant from the neighboring Deerfield. It is located at Garrity Square, a strip mall west of US-41 along Deerfield Road. Judy's signature pizza is the popular Double Decker, although the thin crust with a tomato and cheese base is also a hit. Most of its business is generated through delivery and take-outs, but they also provide two tables for those who wish to eat in. Judy's Pizzeria boasts "fast hot delivery" as far as Lincolnshire, but the restaurant does charge for that. Side orders like fried zucchini, cottage fries and cheese sticks are also available.
