Since 1997 Ami Batchelder; PA-C; has been passionate about working with patients affected by blood cancers. Initially in charge of research at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center; and clinical work with the hematology program at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance; Ami brings her experience and patient focused care to the Swedish Cancer Institute. Her years of compassionate care combined with dedication to research and furthering cancer therapies makes her a unique member of SCIs multidisciplinary team. Her mission in caring for people with cancer is to provide the most holistic care for patients; but also to make the experience as positive and informative as possible. Patient advocacy is very important to her; and she is especially interested in forming partnerships between patients and the care team; empowering patients so they are informed about their treatment and part of the decision-making process.
