Founded in 1980, the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center provides a range of health care services. It offers preventative care, health education, integrated clinical and social services. The center also practices in the areas of family practice, pediatrics, internal medicine and geriatrics. The Greater Lawrence Family Health Center offers nutritional counseling, care coordination and social case management solutions for at-risk women and children. It operates the Merrimack Valley Area Health Education Center, which conducts training programs for health professionals, paraprofessionals and students pursuing health care careers. The Greater Lawrence Family Health Center also manages Lawrence Family Medicine Residency, which is a community health center-based residency program that trains more than 25 medical residents annually.
