Cape Fear Valley Health Foundation is a division of the Cape Fear Valley Health Care System. It offers fund-raising support to the medical center through partnerships with the Fayetteville community. Volunteer opportunities are available online, and those interested in making donations can do so online as well. Money raised benefits all divisions of the hospital.
The Women Only Fitness Center in the Tallywood Shopping Center is the only female gym in Fayetteville equipped with a pool. This health club has been in business for more than 20 years and has a staff of certified health and fitness professionals. The facilities offer strength-training machines, free weights and cardio equipment.
CountrySide Gymnastics, owned by Marylyn and Jack Hester, offers recreational programs for all ages, as well as competitive boys and girls team gymnastics. Highly qualified instructors teach the skills needed to perform the USGA routines at local, regional and state meets. The gym also offers summer camps, and Parents Night Out events are held throughout the year. Dance classes through Leslie's Dance Academy are offered upstairs at the facility.
