Garland Studio occupies a storefront space on Ventura Boulevard near the intersection with Woodman Avenue. It's a dedicated pilates studio. Inside, the walls are mirrored to ensure perfect form. Specialized equipment is provided to further enhance sessions. Owner Trish Garland, a former Broadway dancer, took up the practice in the wake of a knee injury and went on to study the discipline under acclaimed instructor Romana Kryzanowska. In 1998, Sherman Oaks Baseball Academy was founded so that kids can learn baseball from dedicated adults who played in college or the pros. Each student is taught baseball techniques and off-the-field sportsmanship. The Academy doesn't use pitching machines, there is always an adult pitching, and students can play year round and at night.
