Washington Korean Dance Company is located in Merrifield just outside the Beltway. Started in 1993 by Eun S. Kim, Washington Korean Dance Company is a non profit organization that celebrates and teaches traditional Korean dance. The dance company gives performances throughout the country that emphasize the interconnection between dance and Korean culuture. Additionally, they provide instruction in 15 different sytles to children, teenagers, adults and seniors.
Mariachi goes beyond the frontera, and is alive and well in Falls Church. This band formed more than 30 years ago and has been playing ever since. It is available for many types of events, including weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. From time to time, the band plays at music festivals in the area and across the country. At times, the band has more than a dozen members. The faces and names have evolved throughout the years, but one thing is a constant -- that sweet mariachi sound.
