For more than 25 years, Dance 10 Performing Arts Center has offered a variety of dance classes for all ages. Students are encouraged to try several types of dance. Classes are offered for beginners to advanced dancers to improve techniques and broaden skills.
The Altarena Playhouse, located on High St., produces community plays performed on the weekends. The productions are appropriate for family viewing. The playhouse is funded and casted solely by community members. Season or individual tickets are available for purchase at the box office, or on-line.
With its elegant columns and ornate engravings, Kofman Auditorium is a glowing tribute to years of Alameda's academic and performing arts accomplishments. The auditorium hosts plays, musicals, recitals, concerts and high school events almost year-round. It seats more than a thousand people, with both lower level and balcony seating. The decor inside the theater is sophisticated, classic and beautiful. On most weekend nights, you can enjoy a local cultural event in this great and historical setting.
