The system s unit, The Westerly Hospital, founded in 1921, is a more than 100 beds, nonprofit, acute care community facility that offers medical, surgical, obstetrical, gynecological and pediatric services. Diagnostic Imaging is one of the departments of the Yale-New Haven Hospital. It offers a wide range of services, such as CT scan, bone density tests, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, mammography and interventional radiology. It provides breast imaging service and also performs more 15,000 breast imaging tests and over 900 breast biopsies each year. Its breast imaging services include screening and diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging. It also performs three types of breast biopsies, such as fine needle aspiration, core needle biopsy and needle localization.
