Under the direction of Thomas Thurkettle, Wilton’s Public Works Department is responsible for the repair and maintenance of Wilton’s drainage system and public roads—fixing pot-holes, clearing snow and ice during the winter, removing winter sand in the spring and maintaining the city’s road system.
The Public Works Department oversees the town's solid waste and recycling operations, including the Wilton Refuse Transfer Station. The office is located on the Town Hall Campus, along with some of its chief facilities including a road sand/salt storage facility and the public works garage.
