Rifle Public Works provides engineering and administrative services in Colorado. The departments responsibilities include design of new infrastructure, such as drainage, water main, traffic signals, design and construction management of large capital and maintenance projects. In addition, it oversees permitting work in the public right of way, subdivision construction approval, and watershed permitting and monitoring. Rifle Public Works is a part of Rifle Colorado, a municipal organization, founded in 1882. Its other departments include building department, cemetery, finance and many more.
