Whether you want to spend a day at the beach or a week in a tent, South Carlsbad State beach has something to offer. The beach includes Ponto Beach and a campground overlooking the ocean. At the north end of the beach there is a paid parking lot, restrooms and showers. Free street parking is also available, but spaces are limited. Visitors can enjoy sand volleyball, surfing, swimming with lifeguard supervision and fishing off of a jetty. Alcohol, dogs, fires and camping are not permitted on the beach. Campground visitors enjoy 220 campsites and amenities, including clean restrooms, showers, a laundry facility and a store to buy supplies. Dogs are permitted with leashes.
