Dr. Korsh Jafarnia is one of Houston’s leading orthopedic specialists, who is charting new territory in the field of hand and upper extremity and offering a higher standard of care to patients across Texas. Trained by some of the best hand surgeons in the United States and France, Dr. Jafarnia is able to provide patients of all ages with effective treatment options for hand and upper extremity injuries and conditions – building a treatment program specific to each. Formerly the vice president of KSF Orthopaedic Surgery Center and Chief of Staff of Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital, Dr. Jafarnia has also served as Chief of the Hand Center at Houston Methodist Orthopedics & Sports Medicine and the hand specialist for UT Physicians / UT Ortho and the Memorial Hermann IRONMAN Sports Medicine Institute at Memorial City and the Texas Medical Center. He has recently returned to help launch the hand and upper extremity section of the Houston Methodist Hospital’s new Memorial City / Spring Valley facility. He has worked with Houston’s top hand, wrist and elbow specialists at Baylor College of Medicine, where he received the Teaching Excellence, the Bronze Hammer and the Leonard Marmor Surgical Arthritis Foundation Awards. He has served as a clinical assistant professor for Baylor and an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). As the hand specialist at Houston Methodist Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, Spring Valley, he also serves as an assistant professor for clinical orthopaedic surgery for Weill Cornell Medical College. A published author, Dr. Jafarnia’s experience and unique perspective provides both his pediatric and adult patients with the latest treatment options available for some of the most common as well as challenging hand and upper extremity injuries and conditions seen today – from childhood fractures and carpal tunnel syndrome to arthritis and other degenerative joint conditions. Dr. Jafarnia performs the latest procedures in hand and upper extremity – including endoscopic carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel releases, tendon and nerve repair, arthroscopy, and joint resurfacing and replacement. Memberships and Affiliations Dr. Jafarnia is a volunteer staff member at the Shriners Hospitals for Children. He is also a fellow of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Jafarnia is also a member of the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association and the Harris County Medical Society. Education and Certification Dr. Jafarnia is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery with a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery (CAQ). He received his undergraduate degree and graduated with high honors from the University of Texas in Austin and obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree at The University of Texas Medical School in San Antonio, where he was chosen to join the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society. He then performed his internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. During his residency at Baylor, Dr. Jafarnia also attended the French Institute for Hand Surgery in Paris – studying advanced techniques and new approaches to hand surgery. Following his residency he was selected for a Fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Dr. Eugene Stautberg, a native Houstonian, enjoys serving the community near his hometown in Pearland, TX. Dr. Stautberg is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering. He graduated from The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, now known as McGovern Medical School. His interest in biomechanics, sports, and rehabilitation led him to orthopedic surgery. Dr. Stautberg completed his orthopedic surgery residency at The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. During his residency, he received numerous awards, including the ‘Orthopedic In-Training Master Award’ for the highest raw score as a chief resident, the ‘Resident Excellence in Research’ award, and the ‘Golden Bone Award’ for his role in the education of medical students as a junior resident. After residency, Dr. Stautberg completed a foot and ankle fellowship at the prestigious Washington University in St. Louis under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Johnson, a former president of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society. He also trained with Dr. Sandra Klein and Dr. Jeremy McCormick, both involved in education, research, and equality within orthopedic surgery. Dr. Stautberg has multiple published articles, most recently in the Journal of Arthroscopy. Further, he has had articles featured in ‘AAOS Now’, a national publication, where he focused on healthcare advocacy for orthopedic surgery patients and education of surgeons on policy. Dr. Stautberg is an active member of multiple organizations. He sits on the Board of Directors of the Texas Orthopedic Association, where his work has focused on educating residents on health policy and practice management topics. Additionally, he is a member of the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS). Dr. Stautberg is interested in general orthopedic care including trauma and arthritis. He is trained in comprehensive foot and ankle care, from acute sports injuries to chronic conditions. His focus includes sports injuries such as Achilles tendonitis and ankle instability. He also treats complex reconstructions ranging from flatfoot deformity to total ankle replacement and external frames. Further, he addresses all midfoot and forefoot pathology, including bunion and toe deformities. Dr. Stautberg spends most of his free time with his young family but enjoys travel, Houston sports teams, and golf.

Dr. James Nodler was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He is board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Nodler is the site director for the CCRM Houston Medical Center office located next to the Women’s Hospital of Texas. He sees patients at the Medical Center and Memorial City locations. He has been named a “Rising Star Super Doc” by Texas Monthly magazine from 2016 to 2018, an honor given to only 2.5 percent of doctors in the state. He was also named a “Top Doctor” by Houstonia and H-Texas magazines, and voted to be one of the Top 3 Physicians in Houston regardless of specialty by The Leader magazine. Dr. Nodler was an Instructor at Harvard Medical School and a Visiting Scientist at Boston Children’s Hospital while completing his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. He has received multiple honors and awards including research grants from Harvard Medical School, the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and the New England Fertility Society. He has extensive experience in reproductive surgery with a focus on uterine fibroids and endometriosis. Dr. Nodler’s research at Harvard focused on the areas of nutrition and endometriosis. He has also published in peer-reviewed journals and presented research at national meetings on recurrent pregnancy loss, reproductive surgery, and polycystic ovarian syndrome, and published data on uterine fibroids while working at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
