Vision therapy, typically administered to children, is provided to help correct vision problems that are not related to glasses. Somers Vision Clinic is the only practice in the area to offer such a service.

The town of Somers is run by a Board of Selectmen that is led by a First Selectman. The First Selectman is the town's chief executive/administrative officer.
