Joshua Sameer Pal, MD is a board certified anesthesiologist and interventional pain medicine physician who provides complete care for patients with acute or chronic pain disorders. He’s the medical director of ProActive Health Solutions, a multidisciplinary pain management practice with locations in National City and Vista City, California. As a physician who is trained in every aspect of pain management, Dr. Pal offers specialized expertise in advanced interventional pain medicine, including intrathecal therapy and neuromodulation, to residents living in and around the greater San Diego metropolitan area. Backed by a top-notch team of physicians, anesthesiologists, physical therapists, and psychiatrists, he’s dedicated to finding solutions for even the most difficult cases of persistent pain, including patients who may have given up hope of ever returning to a normal, pain-free life again. After graduating with honors from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, Dr. Pal went on to receive his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed his internship at Riverside Regional Medical Center, his residency in anesthesiology at Harvard Medical School, and his fellowship training at Stanford University. During his time in practice, Dr. Pal has consulted in the development of pain therapeutics and won awards for his research in neurology and pain medicine. He has given numerous scientific presentations on spinal cord stimulation, stem cell therapy, platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections, and other regenerative medicine techniques. He’s also published in scientific journals on non-opiate pain treatments, and authored a textbook chapter on the advanced treatment of headaches. As an athlete himself, Dr. Pal is both personally and professionally interested in the minimally-invasive treatment of sports injuries. When he’s not in the office, he enjoys volunteering his time and expertise, both as a ringside doctor for youth boxing in National City, and as a pediatric anesthesiologist for surgical missions in developing countries. Dr. Pal is affiliated with Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, California. He welcomes all patients.
