Florida Keys Community College is a community college in Key West, Florida. Its main campus is on Stock Island, adjacent to what it purports to be the only living coral reef in North America. FKCC also operates two additional campuses in the Florida Keys; one in Marathon and another in Key Largo. In addition to the Key West Campus, FKCC also has two centers: the Middle Keys Center in Marathon and the Upper Keys Center in Tavernier. The centers offer students the opportunity to complete coursework toward an Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree without traveling to the main campus. Student services such as admission, enrollment, and academic advising are also available. Students can also take noncredit continuing education classes for workforce training or personal enrichment. Getting a high-quality education and enjoying a naturally beautiful locale are not mutually exclusive endeavors. There is a place where the learning is personal and practical and the weather is sunny and warm all year. That place is on the charming island chain of the Florida Keys, at the southernmost learning institution in the continental United States-Florida Keys Community College. FKCC is an open-access institution (with the exception of the nursing program), which means that students need only a high school diploma to enroll. Enrollment is open at FKCC—allowing students the flexibility to apply and register for any term: fall, spring, or summer.
