Clark Farms Garden Center is the Wakefield storefront of Clark Farms. Opened in 1992, it offers the same quality products sold at its Matunuck location, although it is not as expansive as its Matunuck Farm. "We're more fun here though," an anonymous staff member jokes. Needless to say, spunk is not lacking at either location.
Clark Farms Matunuck was founded in 1989, although the land it occupies has been farmland for quite some time now. Clark Farms is a full-service nursery that also sells some home-grown crops and has plenty of seasonal events. Its staff is certified in its field, knowledgeable and, best of all, quite friendly. At Clark Farms Matunuck, visitors will find hayrides and a corn maze in the fall, spring festivals and many other celebrations of seasonal joys.
Highland Farm has provided fresh, homegrown produce since its opening in 1941 by the Sumner family. The business remains in the family today, and is evergrowing. In 1995, Highland Farm opened an extensive garden center, filled with annuals, perennials and rose collections. The farm also has an on-site bakery that produces a variety of baked goods daily, and is particularly known for its assortment of pies. There are also a series of seasonal activities, including a haunted hay ride around Halloween called "Trails To Terror."
