Based in Aiken, S.C., Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center provides nursing care, assisted living and treatment of patients with dementia-related disorders. It organizes meetings for caregivers and loved ones of persons suffering from Alzheimers disease. The center also schedules certified nursing assistant classes. Its class schedule includes discussions on Alzheimers disease positive interaction techniques, managing behavior problems and supportive physical environments. The center also provides daycare service for the dementia-related patients during the class times and is funded by the National Family Caregiver Support Program. Mattie C. Hall Health Care Center also accepts contributions and donations in various forms, such as sponsoring of fundraising events, memory walk and art exhibitions and auctions.

The Senior Citizens Association is a nonprofit, community-based organization offering services to older adults in Florence County and Lake City areas. It operates the Leatherman Senior Center, a 15,000-square-foot facility, located in Florence, S.C. Established in 2005, the center houses a multi-purpose dining room, a commercial kitchen, a physical fitness room and recreational areas. It also provides health care services to its members through its medical wing. In addition to the senior center, The Senior Citizens Association extends a number of services to the older community, such as crisis and money management, telephone reassurance, reassessment and respite programs. Established in 1981, Foothills Playhouse is a nonprofit theater based in Easley, S.C., established by a group of dedicated individuals. Known originally as the Easley Community Theatre, it produced four adult shows at Easley High School during their debut season. Over the next 24 seasons, it has evolved into the current name and has changed locations from the high school to the Foothills Mall, and finally in 1991 to West End Hall, where it still resides. The theater group has grown to six shows including youth productions and drama classes. Foothills Playhouse provides quality, live theatre for the entertainment, education and edification of the city, state and region.
