Shadowfax is a private non-profit human services agency that supports individuals with disabilities. The company is governed by a volunteer board of directors represented by a cross section of the York Community. The corporation was founded in 1985 to provide high quality and caring services to individuals with disabilities in residences throughout York County. In 1986, the company supported 12 individuals in four homes. It has grown tremendously through the years, currently providing services to over 350 individuals. Shadowfax offers the most extensive and comprehensive programs of its kind in the York/Adams area. The residential services department supports 109 individuals in 34 homes throughout the county. More than 350 people are supported in a variety of day services that include: supported employment, job placement, vocational training, in home supports, community based programming and life skills training.

YCBA Insurance Trust was established in 1969 to meet the needs of members of the Home Builders Association. The Trust consists of an Administrator, appointed by the YCBA, and five Trustees. The Board of Trustees, all volunteers, meet on the third Wednesday of each month to conduct business and make decisions regarding the insurance plan. Licensed brokers are available to assist you in comparing insurance plans. The office staff consists of employees who administer the plan.
