Natick Center Associates is an organization designed and determined to make Natick a lively, important and exciting location. Preserving the buildings, parks and memorials is of primary importance to Natick Center Associates. The group recruits new business, presents new ideas to enhance the art and culture aspect of the area and protects and keeps the common in good condition. The group continues to suggest, present and add new projects to attract people in and out of the area to Natick.
City Year is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping students throughout the country who are at risk of dropping out of school. It offers tutoring, mentoring and after-school programs led by recent college graduates who have been trained by the organization. This office is the Boston headquarters for the organization.
Housed in a former fire house on Monmouth Street, the non-profit Brookline Community Arts Center offers a wide range of community art classes for adults, children and families. The center also organizes rotating exhibits of local and internationally renowned artists.
Free and reduced-cost classes are available for elderly residents and low-income children.
Susan Navarre serves as the center's executive director.
Operating for more than 130 years, The Girdler House is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a safe, peaceful and secure environment for elderly women. Its facility can accommodate 13 women and residents enjoy single-occupancy rooms, three meals a day, weekly housekeeping and laundry service and group activities.
The Hyannis Public Library is located in one of the oldest buildings in downtown Hyannis. It has a wide variety of books and materials for children and adults. The library is also a part of CLAMS -- Cape Libraries Automated Materials Sharing -- which enables patrons to obtain any book, video, CD from any library on Cape Cod.
The Acton Barn Cooperative Nursery School serves children from ages two years and nine months to five years. The morning class program gives parents a choice of two, three or four days of classes for their children. The afternoon provides a three-day program only. Its program is designed to enhance children's social, emotional, educational and physical growth, through a combination of parent and staff cohesiveness. Parents get involved at the school; for example, everyday, there are two to three parents who help out at the barn.
