Founded in 1965 and located in Huntington Beach, Calif., Golden West College is a part of the California Community College system. The college serves more than 13,000 students and provides an associate degree in various subjects. It also offers a university transfer program in addition to a wide variety of short-term vocational and certificate courses in more than 60 specializations. Golden West College has a student body and provides an honors program. The college offers a variety of learning-centered programs and services for its student body. Orange County Humane Society strives to provide temporary safe refuge for the sick, injured, lost, neglected, abused and unwanted animals. Our shelters goal is to find a permanent, loving home for all of our pets and to provide rehabilitation whenever possible. We believe that we are the final hope for these animals and it is our obligation to strive to do the best we can to rescue them from their unfortunate situation Orange County Humane Society ( OCHS ) is dedicated to the protection of abused, unwanted, neglected and under-appreciated animals. We make every effort to nourish the starved, nurse the sick, accept the unwanted, heal the wounded and endear the abandoned. We are dedicated to the relief of animalsuffering, the promotion of animal welfare and the education of the local community. Our employees, along with a group of enthusiastic volunteers, staff the OCHS ; and have made it an integral part of the local community. ANIMAL SERVICES Numerous animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and reptiles continue to enjoy the services of the OCHS and it is our goal to continue this mission for as long as stray and sick animals still roam our streets. What started out in 1949 as a simple effort to tend to less fortunate animals in Orange County, over the years, has turned into a safe haven for tens of thousands of helpless pets. Now called Orange County Humane Society ( OCHS ), the center is undergoing another metamorphosis in hopes of helping even more unwanted or neglected

The Pegasus School, founded in 1979, is a nonprofit educational corporation offering education to students in preschool through grade eight. It operates a lower school and a middle school and offers enrollment to more than 500 students. It offers courses in subjects that include reading, math, language arts, social studies, technology, science, Spanish, music and physical education. The curriculum also includes resource classes taught by specialists. The school offers a full range of sporting activities, including flag football, basketball, volleyball and soccer. Edison High School, located in Huntington Beach, Calif., is a public school and serves students in grades nine through 12. Operated by Huntington Beach Community Clinic, Community Care Health Centers (CCHC) is a nonprofit community clinic that provides a range of health care services for individuals. Established in 1969, it serves the uninsured and medically underserved individuals of Orange County, Calif. Community Care Health Centers oversees a professional staff comprised of more than 165 clinical and health care providers. It has achieved designation as a Federally-Qualified Health Center Look-Alike (FQHCLA). The center receives federal funding to support the health care needs of individuals. It offers health education and outreach, general medicine, pharmaceutical, laboratory, and dental and urgent care services. Community Care Health Centers maintains its headquarters in Huntington Beach, Calif.
