King Street News & Cards provides daily newspapers along with cards and delicious deli food. The store is small, but the atmosphere is open and welcoming. The location is to the side of a very busy street. Parking is limited to the meters on the side of the road.
Newsbeat is a traditional newstand with a wide selection of newspapers, magazines, snacks/candy and tobacco products. With over 3,000 magazine titles available, there is certainly no lack of variety. It also has one of the best selections of premium cigars (Partagas, Cohiba, Montechristo and Macanudo) and Zippo lighters in Davis. The store itself is packed but well organized, with most of the aisles dedicated to the magazine selection. In the back is a set of coolers displaying cold drinks (including a wide range of Jones Sodas). The staff and owners are very engaging and helpful, not only having a comprehensive knowledge of their own wares, but often of many things Davis.
