Founded in 1997, Cordoba deals in the design and sale of nylon string acoustic guitars. Artists who use its guitars, include Bon Iver, Leonard Cohen, and The Decemberists. Jeff Traugott Guitars is a one-person custom guitar shop. His beautiful guitars are made with care and expertise from materials such as Brazilian rosewood and German spruce. He does detailed abalone inlay work as well, and each order includes a custom Calton guitar case.
John Phillips is a master harpsichord maker with more than 40 years of experience. This small shop in West Berkeley produces four to six highly detailed instruments every year. Its instruments are modeled after antique French, Italian, Flemish and German harpsichords and can be found in private collections, as well as institutions such as the San Francisco Symphony and Stanford University.
