The National Museum of Industrial History captures the stories of America's industrial achievements and the accomplishments of its inventors, managers and workers. Located across from the main entrance of the historic Bethlehem Steel, the National Museum of Industrial History features exhibits in the context of American society, economics, technologies, business and workers. Affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution, the NMIH strives to display America's excellence for the Bethlehem community.
Managed and operated by Bethlehem's historical society, the Goundie House, built in 1810, was once the home of renowned brewer Johann Sebastain Goundie. Today, it houses various rotating exhibits on Bethlehem's rich history. The Goundie House is located next to the Historic Bethlehem Visitor Center, and offers year-round events, exhibits and educational material, as well as the country's only live advent calendar.
The Bethlehem Visitor Center provides information for tourists spending time in the city. Its staff offers historical perspectives on the area, as well as information on current events and activities. The center provides directions, merchandise and a small museum.
The Kemerer Museum features a collection of various artwork, home artifacts, textiles and furniture adorning Bethlehem homes since the town's founding in 1857. This museum also showcases an E.J. Prime dollhouse and toy collection. The entire collection chronicles the town's turn-of-the-2oth-century culture and lifestyle.
Sun Inn Preservation Association is an nonprofit organization. It maintains the Sun Inn, a historic building going back to 1758. It hosted prominent individuals such as Benjamin Franklin, Martha Washington, George Washington, John Adams, Samuel Adams, Ethan Allen, Henry Laurens, Richard Lee, Marquis de Lafayette and many others. Today, guided tours are offered of the building and its grounds. It also has a restaurant serving dinner on select days of the week.
