Founded in 1960, the Kalamazoo Nature Center is one of the leading nature centers in the United States. It is a nonprofit center that maintains an area of more than 1,000 acres of wooded area. The center offers a series of environmental education programs for homeschoolers from ages 4 to 12. Its amenities include an auditorium, gallery, garden and picnic area. The center also specializes in preschool activities, including dramatic play, songs, language arts, story time and nature walks.
