Opened in1995, Entergy IMAX Theatres is a motion picture system. IMAX theaters feature a patented digital audio technology with circuits designed specifically to enhance sound clarity and depth of sound reproduction. It also uses proprietary signal processing, amplification and loudspeaker design. Its sound system comprises more than 44 custom designed speakers that extract over 12,000 watts of digital surround sound. IMAX motion picture systems, invented and developed by the IMAX Corporation, offer multispeaker sound systems and 120-foot rectangular screens. The theater network consists of more than 280 affiliated theatres in over 40 countries. It supplies more than 250 projection systems to fairs, theme park attractions, museums, aquariums, multiplexes and zoos. It is located in New Orleans.
