Oceanside Theatre Company is a nonprofit performing arts organization. It hosts a variety of performances and shows and offers acting and musical theater classes, workshops and summer camp programs.
Ultra Star Theaters has been in business in the Mission Marketplace since 1989. Located in the very back of the shopping center, this state of the art theater is a local hot spot. It is ornately decorated inside and out, making an outing to a movie a very classy experience. This Ultra Star has 13 theaters, all of which have stadium seating. It also has two entrance. Patrons can take an elevator from the main floor of the marketplace or they can drive around to the back and enter through there. Like most cinemas, Ultra Star is outfitted with a snack bar carrying candy, slurpees, popcorn, hot dogs, nachos and candy. This one even comes with a coffee bar and selection of juices.
Built in 1956, The Star Theatre has become a staple of the community. Its large awning tells of current and upcoming shows, while its antique ticket kiosk provides patrons with a retro vibe that carries throughout the space. The theatre is used for plays, concerts, lectures, and even church services. The space can be rented out by locals, as well as regional theatre companies looking for a large space to perform in. There is a concession area just inside the front doors, and the house seats a large number of people with a proscenium stage. Credit cards are accepted and parking is free in the rear.
