D&P Creamery in Roseville has been a Roseville staple for 40 years. It is not an ice cream store. It is a local wholesale distributor of dairy products for the Roseville and South Placer County area. Products include eggs, cheese, milk and ice cream.
The building that holds the Vella Cheese Company is a historical landmark in Sonoma. The building was originally built as a brewery in 1904, which was shut down by prohibition. After surviving many earthquakes and a fire, the building was reopened as the Vella Cheese Factory by Tom Vella and a few dairy-men.
Vella Cheese Company currently makes 19 different type of cheese and is most famous for their Dry Jack. Although they are no longer able to host tours of the facility, they do host tastings by appointment.
